Lu Huihui, an associate professor in JNU's College of Science and Engineering and a project leader on Prof. Chen Zhe's team, has published a research paper in the international journal of the Nature Publishing Group. The paper, titled Magnetic spin–orbit interaction of light was published on June 27 in Light: Science & Applications (IF = 14.098). Lu's project cooperated with the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) research team led by Thierry Grosjean and with the research team from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanneled by Prof. Hans-Peter Herzig. Lu and Grosjean are project leaders.
Lu's team worked with CNRS and published six high-quality research papers. It will carry out further research and cooperation in electro-optic modulation and detection in weak electric fields, chiral nano antenna and optical field regulation of surface light waves.
Lu works in the College of Science and Engineering’s Department of Electro-Optical Engineering. He was a visiting scholar at CNRS from November 2016 to October 2017. He was the China Scholarship Council's 2012 National Excellent Self-Funded Chinese Overseas Student; the 2014 Guangzhou Rising Star in Science and Technology; and one of the 2014 Young Innovative Talents (Natural Science) of Universities in Guangdong. Lu was supported by the Guangdong Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars (Natural Science) in 2014. He was a Distinguished Young Scholar of JNU in 2016 and an Innovative Young Talent of Science and Technology 2017 in Guangdong’s Special Support Project for High-Level Talents. In addition, Lu has been a member of the Optical Society of America since 2011 and the Optical Society of France since 2012. He is a copy editor of international journals including Applied Physics Letters, Optics Express, Optics Letters, Journal of Lightwave Technology, IEEE Photonics Technology Letters, Journal of the Optical Society of America B, Applied Optics, Journal of Nanophotonics and Chinese Optics Letters. He is an expert for evaluating graduate degree theses for the Ministry of Education and an evaluation expert of Natural Science Foundation of China. He also works as special sci-tech French translator for the French consulate Guangzhou.
