It has been authorized the National Base of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language by the Ministry of Education and the Overseas Chinese Education Base by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council. The College is the HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) centers for all levels and C.TEST centers. It is also the training and testing center for certifying qualification to teaching Chinese as a foreign language in Guangdong province and an examination venue for the National Entrance Examination of Chinese Universities for overseas students. |

The history of the college can be traced to the year 1929, when it was called College of Science at National Jinan University. The college now consists of five departments with seven first-class disciplines, four research institutes and one research. At present the college possesses a number of teaching and research laboratories, the total value of fixed assets being 14,560,000 RMB. |
Moreover the university will devote more efforts to the lab construction input. Up to now six lab centers have been approved and initiated. Now there are Mong Manwai Science and Engineering Building and Civil Engineering Laboratory Building for teaching and research. The second Science and Engineering Building will be set up soon. In recent years the college has done 97 research projects with the total amount of fund being 12,606,000 Yuan, which are sponsored by national, provincial and ministerial, municipal departments or by enterprises. |
