College of Chinese Language and Culture

Founded in 1953, as one of the 20 colleges of Jinan University (Known as the Paramount Academy for overseas Chinese)), College of Chinese Language and Culture is a unique institution of higher learning that specializes in offering to international students long or short-term courses and both degree and non-degree programs in Chinese as a second or foreign language(Chinese as L2). Apart from general language courses, the College also offers Chinese for Specific Purpose course, such as Business Chinese and Cantonese. Being the largest of its kind in south China, the College annually receives students from more than 30countries and regions round the globe. It is the largest HSK(i.e. Chinese Proficiency Test)center in south China, and is also a center for Chinese as L2 teacher training and a testing center for the National Teacher's Certificate for Teaching Chinese as L2. Currently, the college consists of Department of Teaching Chinese as a Second or Foreign Languages, Department of Applied Linguistics, Pre-University Department, Correspondence Course Department, Overseas Chinese Education Institute, and Modern Educational Technology Center. The faculty and supporting staff total 199, among whom are 10 full professors, 17 assoicate professiors and 63 lecturers; 18 of the staff hold doctorate degrees, 57 hold master degrees and 16 are doctorate or master candidates supervisors.

Located in the vicinity of the downtown Tianhe cultural district of Guangzhou, the College has easy access to convenient metro and intercity communications systems that join the neighboring Hong Kong, Macao and other major mainland cities. Lying at the foot of the hillside ,the College boasts large patches of greens, fresh air, sports grounds, entertainment and living facilities, and lots more......It is an ideal venue for international students to learn Chinese and have contact with Chinese culture.

Facilities of dormitory building include telephone, air-conditioner, bathroom, hot/cold water,Internet access, color TV, washing machine, and refrigerator. The prices range from RMB￥4100/semester to ￥6200/semester. A certain amount of electricity allowance is provided monthly, but residents must pay for the extra part.

III .Medical examination fee

Cost varies by medical examiners. Those who have received examination abroad will have to bring the original document and pay for the authentication fee only.

According to reciprocal arrangements between the Chinese government and that of the students' home country

V. Book and Other Material fee Varies with book costs



Note:

All the fees above must be paid at or before registration. Our college will accept RMB. Other currencies are converted to the equivalent value of RMB according to the latest exchange rate issued by Bank of China. The tuition fee, housing fee and miscellaneous fee is charged according to the government regulations.

1. The housing fees for short-term classes are charged at a daily rate: RMB￥50/day for a single room, RMB￥35/day for a double room of the first class residence.
