Historical Events:
1906 Jinan Academy, the predecessor of Jinan University was established in Nanjin.
1918 Jinan Academy moved to Shanghai
1927 Jinan Academy was renamed Jinan National University
1941-1946 Jinan University moved to Fujian Province during the Second World War.
1949 Jinan National University was merged into Fudan University and Jiaotong University
1958 Jinan University was re-established in Guangzhou
1978 The Medical School was established
1979 The College of Economics was established
1983 Jinan University pioneered in the country the implementation of credit system
1985 The College of Liberal Arts and the College of Science and Engineering were established
1986 The College of Continuous Education was established
1993 The College of Chinese Language and Culture and the Tourism College were established
1998 Management School and the Zhuhai College were established
1999 The College of Life Science and Technology was established
2001 College of Journalism and Communication, College of Information Science and Technology,
          College of Foreign Studies, Pharmacy College, Law School and International School were
          established. Jinan University was ranked 40th among all institution of high learning in China.
2002 Jinan University started to launch EMBA Program with approval from the Degree Administration
          Office of the State Council. As one of the first group of universities. Jinan University was ranked
          the 37 th among all universities within the country in comprehensive strength.
2003 Clinical Medicine College was established. Jinan University ranked at the 36 th place.
2004 The 1st and the 2nd Clinical Medicine Colleges were founded.
2005 College of Arts was founded.
2006 Jinan University celebrated her Centenary Celebration
